A single-engine plane crashed into the California Bay and came to rest upside down in the shallow water. There were three men aboard on the plane and all three of them were killed. Before firefighters recevied trouble reports they saw the plane themselves, before it crashed and knew something was wrong. Fire Division Chief Paul Matheis said that the plane flew over one of their stations at about 50 feet, which is too low for a plane to fly. Chief Matheis had stated that the firefighters tried to follow the plane and perform a rescue, but it was too late and the three men didn't survive.
